Therapy Approaches

There are many types of therapeutic approaches and using one that is appropriate for those we work with is an important part of therapy.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is one of the client-preferred therapeutic approaches we use at LifePRO Counselling.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) gets it name from one of its core messages: accept what is out of your personal control, and commit to action that improves and enriches your life.

The aim of ACT is to maximise your potential for a rich, full and meaningful life through:

> teaching you psychological skills to deal with your painful thoughts and feelings effectively so they have much less impact and influence over you.

> helping you to clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you (your personal values), then using that knowledge to guide, inspire and motivate you to change your life for the better.

You can learn more about ACT here.
